Kaprun Alpine Reservoirs

You will learn here how water becomes clean, eternally renewable energy.

You reach Mooserboden Reservoir and Europe's largest open inclined elevator environmentally friendly, modern coaches. Inclined elevators can carry very great loads and overcome extreme gradients. The steepest gradient that the Lärchwand inclined elevator overcomes is 81%. You will become acquainted with the "inner life of a dam" on one of the regular dam tours. What must a dam be able to do, how can it be monitored? Admire the virtual "Electricity and Ice World Experience" by Prof. H. Slupetzky.

Enjoy the marvellous view of the Glockner Group and the Hohe Tauern National Park holiday region on the sunny terrace of the Mooserboden mountain restaurant, or on a hike.
